“You are never too young to lead and you should never doubt your capacity to triumph where others have not.”
– Kofi Annan, 7th Secretary-General of the United Nations
At Solarvest, we believe that innovation and leadership know no age and our commitment to sustainable change is driven by empowering our own young talent.
As an active member of UN Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei (UNGCMYB), four high-performing young Solarvest employees participated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals 2025, which took place between February 2025 and September 2025. Together, these powerful youths underwent over 300 hours of training in total, equipping them with the cutting-edge tools and mindset required to shape a more sustainable future.
“The programme not only highlighted the importance of effective teamwork but also reinforced the critical lesson that the most impactful SDG solutions are always those aligned closely with an organisation’s overall strategy and operations.” – Nur Anissya Binti Sohaimi, Design & Development Engineer I, Project Design & Development Department
“Being part of a team of youth innovators from different departments has shown me how powerful we can be when we unite to build solutions for the SDGs.” – Nurul Zafirah binti Hamka, Sustainability Executive II, CEO Office Department
The SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals 2025 was a nine-month development programme aimed to engage young leaders from participating companies within UN Global Compact network in driving innovation in their organisation and delivering tangible solutions with potential market and social value for their company.
By sending our People to the programme, we were challenging them to become intrapreneurs, rethinking our operations and unlocking new business opportunities that accelerate the achievement of the SDGs. In addition, they gained access to invaluable opportunities designed to accelerate their growth and impact, such as working with other businesses on innovative projects, gaining insights from global leading experts in sustainability and innovation and building valuable relationships through coaching, mentoring, peer-to-peer networking and joining a global network of talented young professionals.
