The shift toward clean energy requires more than just innovation, it’s about people.
As a leading clean energy specialist in the Asia-Pacific, Solarvest believes that strong teams are built on diverse perspectives, mutual respect, and a culture where everyone can thrive. This commitment is reflected in how we empower talent across all levels of the organisation.
Committing to Solarvest’s Human Rights Policy, we continue to prioritise Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (“DEI”) as a key driver of our organisational success. Over years, the number of women employees grown significantly by 42%, from 54 employees in 2022 to 132 in 2025. This reflects our long-term commitment to fostering an equitable workplace and bridging the gender gap in the clean energy industry.
People-Centric Leadership
Behind every successful organisation is a strong culture.
Perrin Liaw, the Head of Human Resource at Solarvest, plays a key role in shaping Solarvest’s vibrant and inclusive workplace. From strengthening talent frameworks to digitalising performance systems, her work enhances both employees’ experience and organisational performance. She cultivated a “work hard, play hard” environment that led to an improved working efficiency.
“The most rewarding part of my work is seeing our people feel energised, connected and proud to be part of the team.”
Research by Bar-On (2006) shows that women tend to demonstrate higher emotional intelligence, particularly in interpersonal relationships. Perrin believes that empathy fosters stronger alignment between management and employees, efficiently balancing performance and humanity.
Enabling Operations Through Collaboration

“The integration of empathy and process-driven insights allows women to enhance teamwork and operational efficiency, ultimately creating a more sustainable culture within the clean energy industry.”
Driving Regional Growth and Business Impact

“A key strength women bring to clean energy is the ability to balance technical, financial and human factors. This holistic approach combines rational analysis with empathetic communication is essential for building trust and aligning diverse stakeholders in cross-functional teams.”
Women in Leadership

Qiu Xi nurtured a high-performing Northern Malaysia team that secured results with major global titles like: Micron and Mattel. Her leadership shows that consistent success comes from an empowered, collaborative team working toward a common goal through shared accountability.
Celebrating the Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)
Technical expertise remains at the heart of Solarvest’s operations. We are proud to champion Women in STEM, fostering an inclusive environment where women engineers, technical experts and innovators are supported to lead, build and shape the future of clean energy.
Meet Nurul Farhanah, a Senior Design & Development Engineer who leads a team of five. She manages complex solar projects across multiple sites, combining technical precision with strong leadership to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.

“When you combine data, clear thinking, and open communication, even complex challenges become manageable.”
She states that women can lead with a blend of firmness and empathy, resolving technical disagreements through active listening and calm, data-backed advocacy. By fostering a culture of open brainstorming and psychological safety, she transforms complex stakeholder coordination into a strategic advantage, ensuring robust outcomes in high-pressure clean energy projects.
Keeping solar assets running smoothly and efficiently takes both precision and vision. Keresahnia Ramades, Solarvest Asset Management Engineer, who ensures our regional solar assets remain operationally robust and economically viable at every stage.

Collaborating closely with Operations and Maintenance (“O&M”) teams, they safeguard revenue and ensure long-term portfolio stability. Building an Inclusive Workplaces
Solarvest is committed to creating a workplace where everyone is respected and given equal opportunities to grow. We maintain zero tolerance toward discrimination and continuously strengthen our internal policies to ensure fairness and accountability. We have an established grievance mechanism that allows employees to raise concerns safely and transparently. Since our inception, we have recorded no cases of discrimination and faced zero fines or penalties for labour law non-compliance.
“At Solarvest, I’ve always felt that my work speaks louder than anything else. The inclusive culture has given me the confidence to lead projects and share my technical ideas openly,” said Farhanah.
“Solarvest’s commitment to DEI fosters a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where my contributions are genuinely valued. This culture empowers me to share ideas confidently, feel respected by my peers, and consistently perform at my best,” said Hanim.
“Solarvest’s culture is about real inclusion, not just representation. I’ve been given the trust and support to contribute to major decisions, which has completely transformed my professional confidence. It’s an environment where you’re heard, valued, and encouraged to grow every single day,” said Tiffany.
“Solarvest actively empowers women and builds future female leaders. It’s a wide-open environment where anyone can share an idea, even at big town halls. That kind of transparency has really boosted my confidence; it’s a place where I know my voice is heard and that my skills and hard work are what truly count,” said Perrin.
Inclusion ensures equal opportunity. Our approach to recruitment and advancement is based entirely on professional qualifications and role suitability, free from gender bias. By focusing on capability, performance, and collaboration, Solarvest ensures that every individual can contribute meaningfully.
We firmly reject the outdated notion that women must choose between career progression and family responsibilities. Too often, women are overlooked for leadership opportunities due to assumptions about caregiving commitments. To support this, we provide policies that promote work-life harmony, such as parental leave, allowing our employees to prioritise their families and well-being without compromising professional growth.
Words of Wisdom for Women in the Workplace
Drawing from their personal experiences and professional journeys, the women of Solarvest share insights and advice to inspire the next generation to pursue meaningful and successful careers.
“Both men and women bring unique strengths. As a mother of three, that has never stopped me from pursuing my dreams and career ambitions. Family support is great, but believing in yourself is what really gets you through. I make it a point to keep learning and exploring new places to keep my worldview fresh. Most importantly, do not limit yourself. Your potential is defined by your courage and commitment — not by your gender,” said Perrin.
“I’ve learned that respect is earned through competence. I work hard to master the technicals and strategy so I can be sharp and direct, while still leading with capable, feminine energy. Protect your integrity and lead with logic. Don’t rush into trust and never ignore your gut when it matters most,” said Tiffany.
“In male-dominated fields, I encourage women to embrace growth and technical excellence to build lasting confidence. Consistency is our strongest foundation; by delivering quality work, we build the credibility that opens doors. To all the ladies in Solarvest, believe in yourself, lift others along the way, and bloom fearlessly!” said Qiu Xi.
At Solarvest, inclusion is not a campaign — it is part of our culture. By empowering people, investing in talent, and fostering a culture of respect, we are not only advancing clean energy solutions, we are building a stronger, more sustainable organisation for the future.
